Daniel Gagnon, CPA
 
founded the business in 1967. He started his accounting career working on tax returns and general business financial operations. He later expanded the practice to include personal financial planning to better service all clients. Dan has transitioned to retirement after over 50 years of serving clients and has joined the team at SCORE to assist new businesses and entrepreneurs to making their ideas a successful reality.  Dan earned a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting from Sienna College in 1963. He retired from the Army in 1986 as an LTC.  Dan lives in Stone Ridge with his wife Marge. He enjoys watching football, playing golf with the ROMEOS, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ulster County Accounting firmDavid Gagnon, CPA joined Daniel D. Gagnon, CPA PC in 1989 and became a managing partner in 2013. He started his accounting career working on individual and corporate tax returns and general business financial operations. As the practice expanded he assumed responsibilities of conducting and supervising audits of not-for-profit companies, recently expanding to fire districts with the audit requirements established by the NYS Comptroller’s Office. David has also developed a personal financial planning practice to augment his ability to provide a full level of service to clients by developing a financial plan for the client’s future.
He received his AA in Business Administration from SUNY Ulster in 1987 and a BA in Accounting from Siena College in 1989. He graduated from the United States Army War College in 2014 with a Master’s in Strategic Studies.
David has been a member of the NY Army National Guard since 1986 and currently commands the Regional Training Institute at Camp Smith in Peekskill, NY and has been selected for promotion to Colonel. He has deployed multiple times in support of NYS during emergency responses which include the World Trade Center during 9/11 and more recently Hurricane Sandy. David has supported the federal mission overseas including deployments to Iraq and training missions to Israel, South Africa, Brazil and Peru. David has been a member of the Cottekill Volunteer Fire Company since 1991 and has risen to the position of Assistant Fire Chief. He was also selected to serve on the Ulster County Chamber of Commerce Board starting in 2015. David lives in Stone Ridge with wife Nora and daughter Andrea. He enjoys most sports with his favorites being soccer, football, basketball and golf.

Office Manager

Ellie joined the Firm in 2009 providing administrative support to the Partners and Professional staff. She attended SUNY Ulster, is a graduate of Ulster County Leadership Development, and is Treasurer of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Ellie is a Licensed Notary Public. Ellie enjoys reading, equestrian support for her daughter, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. She has lived in Hurley with her husband and daughter for over 30 years.


Paul Conte, MBA
Financial Adviser and Senior Staff Accountant

Paul joined the firm in 2015 after retiring from the military. He has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Economics and an MBA in Finance from Marist College. His expertise is in personal and corporate financial management. Paul has not completely transitioned to a retirement sport. Instead, he chooses to continue racing motorcycles in his spare time.


Bryan Baulsir, Staff Accountant

Bryan began with the firm during 2017 as a Staff accountant. He assists in Audits for the firm under David and Travis. In addition, he prepares individual and corporate tax returns as well as bookkeeping, payroll taxes, and sales tax  Bryan earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from SUNY New Paltz.  He enjoys staying active in his free time with hiking, fishing, fitness and sports.
